About the program
Rugby Canada is hosting two major test matches in October as part of the Rugby Rematch Tour, presented by Canadian Tire and we’re looking for passionate, creative individuals who want to gain experience creating content in the world of sport.
This opportunity is designed to help aspiring content creators get their foot in the door while supporting Rugby Canada in telling the untold stories of rugby in Canada.
What are we looking for?
- A passion for content creation, storytelling and/or sports.
- Strong creative instincts and a good eye for visual aesthetics.
- An understanding of short-form social content and what makes audiences engage.
- Comfort creating content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and other social channels.
- Creative writers with the ability to interview subjects and produce written articles.
- English and French speakers who are comfortable creating content in either or both languages.
WHO should apply?
- Students, emerging creators or passionate sports fans with a willingness to learn, experiment and try new things.
- Team players with the ability to work collaboratively while also bringing their own ideas and creative voice.
- People with an interest in rugby and a desire to help grow the game in Canada.
- Previous content creation experience is an asset, but a large social media following is absolutely not required.
If you're curious, creative, and excited about rugby, this is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional sporting environment and help tell the story of rugby in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Create engaging short-form video and/or written content for Rugby Canada’s social media channels, as directed by the Rugby Canada Social Lead.
- Capture the energy, stories and experiences surrounding the Rugby Rematch Tour.
- Develop creative content that highlights the event, the sport and the value of the Rugby Rematch Tour while bringing your own unique style and personality.
- Stay up to date with social media trends and creatively adapt relevant formats, sounds and concepts to rugby content.
- Collaborate with Rugby Canada’s Marketing & Communications team to brainstorm, develop and execute content ideas.
- Participate in weekly content discussions and contribute creative ideas to the broader content strategy.
